How can u let the past affect your future?

How can u let the past affect your future???

many of us are bounded by past hurts and abuse.... but what can u do about it now ? those who abuse you dont even know you are hurting right now... how can we gain real release from emotional pains, past disappointments... even disappointment with God?

recently, i heard of another painful divorce , and had this conversation with my bro in his car... we agreed that the most hard-to-cure thing in this world is not about money, not about education ( we can somehow overcome the lack of education in our lives), not about intellect; not about the job with a bloodsucking boss and low pay , BUT the most hard-to-cure thing in this world is one of emotions, which really affects our hearts... it is little wonder that proverbs tells us to guard our hearts...

i am not goin to have a long post on this one... but one answer is that we need a new start!
but how are we goin to have a new start when whatever new things we try seem to land flat on our face? changing a girlfriend will not solve the past hurts of your ex girlfriend... changing a new computer will not solve the problems of the previous computer ( cos tech changes, and eventually somehow microsoft runs SOFT on your intel chip) so why am i even proposing a new start?

let's go back to where things got started... most pains or the response to pains are 'learn' during our adolescent or childhood years... those painful memories somehow filter their way through to our adult years... this is where we get stuck in an endless downward spiral where we cannot get out of... So back to the quesiton: where is the new start???? well, here's the key... today's NEW start will become tommorrow's NEW memories... so HOW are we going to have a new start? here's the other key: by goin back to your first love Jesus Christ... by renewing or even getting right with God today, you will have a new start.... and today(anyday) will be step in our walk with God... and the faithful memories of God's great love will be the greatest gift you can have for TODAY to take you to another tommorrow... so one day when u seem to get stuck in 'where's my new start' or ' how am i goint to get out of this' , recall of days when God was faithful to you, and remember that the same GOD that was faithful yesterday will be faithful today as well.... and that is where beautiful memories will supersede your whatever past hurts you wil have...

are you talking to God today? Are you letting Jesus wash your feet today and every other day?
John 13
