do u know why 2 people drown, whenever you heard of a drowning case? cos the rescuer go down with the person struggling. we hear it many times, and even after many warnings, ppl still want to act hero and try to save someone.

Ryan, what is your pt?

my point being that we need to be first sure of our status before embarking on 'rescue' missions. We cannot save a drowning man, if we are to be drawn into the drowning ourselves. Bottomline: look at yourself first. A leader would not have the transformation power with him , if he does not display the very thing that he wants to input into people. Eg. how can you teach a person to memorize the scripture if you yourself is not into it? or how can i embark to counsel a married couple if i am single myself? or how can i possibly counsel a suicide person without being drawn into the darkness myself- i might as well leave the problem to the experts. the pt is : there are some things i CANNOT do.

Galatians 6:1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

here is another reflection...

why do ppl desire the honour and glory that commandoes command, but very few actually offer themselves to the commandoes' service?

answer? the training.

people like to flock to a nice church, nice air con , nice sermons, nice chairs, even nice people- but when the truth comes, when the good church introduces programs supposedly to help people, the very same people start to complain. Nothing satisfies them. They come with a consumeristic attitude: the training should suit MY taste. It should serve me. Change the program! just dont change me!

Luke 7: 31"To what then shall I compare the people of this generation, and what are they like? 32They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another,

"'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge, and you did not weep.'

33For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.' 34The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, 'Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' 35Yet wisdom is justified by all her children."

People just like to complain , criticize and compare huh? even at the expense of some of the best pastors, leaders, CGLs, whatever... nothing satisfies them...

perhaps... just perhaps... they should fill up the leadership roles left behind when those leaders got driven out by the church...

here is where the church becomes a mockery , here is when a church becomes a joke ...
