Giggs and Scholes Replacement

Cant wait to see Nani and Anderson and Hargreaves alongside Ronaldo, Rooney, Carrick.
Giggs and Scholes are going to retire soon, so i guess these are the understudies... Ferguson really knows how to build a team... to inject such talent so early into the preseason... Cant wait!

Gill delighted by triple coup

Reds' Chief Executive David Gill has expressed his delight at securing the services of three new players for the club.

United announced on Wednesday evening that they had agreed in principle deals for Brazilian attacking midfielder Anderson from FC Porto and Sporting Lisbon winger Nani following talks with the players' representatives in Portugal.

After a year-long chase, the Reds also sealed a deal for Bayern Munich and England midfielder Owen Hargreaves, who will officially sign on 1 July having agreed terms and passed a medical.

Gill believes the trio will go on to become top players at Old Trafford and he is particularly pleased to see an end to the Hargreaves saga.

"It's a relief for me personally!" he told MUTV in an exclusive interview which you can see in full from 6pm on Thursday. "It's no secret that we wanted to sign him last summer and we also tried in January, but we weren't able to get him.

"Thankfully everything has been sorted and I think it's good business for ourselves, Bayern Munich and Owen himself. We're delighted and I think he'll be a great signing for us.

"We've watched Nani and Anderson for the last year," he added. "Carlos [Queiroz, United's Assistant Manager] has great knowledge of Portuguese football and our scouts have also been watching them for a quite a while as well.

"We're very pleased to have secured their signatures."

Brazilian starlet Anderson says he cannot wait to play in the same team as Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, and described his proposed move to Old Trafford as "a dream the size of the world".

United announced a double swoop in Portugal on Wednesday night with the agreement in principle to sign attacking midfielder Anderson from FC Porto and winger Nani from Sporting Lisbon.

"I cannot wait to play in the same team as Cristiano Ronaldo, who is a great player, as well as Wayne Rooney and many more," he has been quoted as saying.

"I could not imagine I would ever get to work with a manager like Sir Alex Ferguson but it has happened. What can I say? It is a dream the size of the world."

The 19-year-old is highly-rated in Portugal and has been called into Brazil's squad for the Copa America tournament next month. But, he is looking forward to joining up with the United squad next season.

"Ever since I was a boy I always wanted to play for Manchester United and now that dream has come true. I am very happy."
